UEFA #EqualGame Forum

Last year board member Tristan was invited to speak on behalf of Sport Allies at the Equal Game Forum in Milan.

The event, organised in conjunction with Napoli football club and UEFA amongst others, aimed to highlight the power of sport in tackling discrimination in wider society.

Among those in attendance were FIGC CEO and vice-president Michele Uva, Napoli vice-president Edoardo De Laurentiis, TV presenter Alessandro Cecchi Paone, Napoli defender Kalidou Koulibaly, Italian Footballers’ Association (AIC) president Damiano Tommasi, journalist and author Luca Telese, and Union of Italian Jewish Communities write Adam Smulevich.

The forum was attended by over 1400 pupils from Liceo Agnesi school as well as being broadcast nationwide. Topics ranged from race, religion, disability sport and LGBT+ inclusion. Our message was simple – that everyone should be able to take part in sport, and that everyone has the power to challenge discrimination no matter their age or sporting ability.

It was an honour for Sport Allies to be given a platform amongst such an esteemed panel of speakers and we thank everyone involved for the opportunity.
